They look identical to me when the fabric is on, except maybe a little differance in the curvature underneath the headrest on the left and right side. I have compared the two seats side by side and they look pretty damn close. Can anyone confirm ??


My plan is to re-upholster my 89 DX drivers side seat with a 90-91 Si Passenger side seat fabric. Or I may just buy an old pair of corduroy pants and have a seamstress remove the entire drivers side left bolster and sew the corduroy pants in.

Good or bad idea ?? To me, it sounds like the perfect way to get a 90-91 SI drivers seat without spending $250+

 

Looking at the parts catalog Si seat foam part numbers are 81120-SH3-A30AA & 81520-SH3-A30AA so they are not the same left and right. In addition it does not list any applications other than 90 & 91 Civic Si. For the 89 CRX DX those parts are not called out separately in the parts list.

 

I'm actually interested in that corduroy idea. I've got a '91 SI that needs bolster repair and the fabric from corduroys might work well!

 

check the bottom of the seat. if both seats have the same holes they will fit. i got an 89 dx and i had some black seat i think from an si but they fit. then i got some other black seats and the bottoms dont math mine i tried swapping foam but no good.
