Default HELP ME IDENTIFY the fuse for the A/C button

SO i just replaced all the a/c on my 94 civic vacuumed to -29 vacuum and recharged with proper weight r134a. it cools down to 50 degrees and cycles at 50 degrees. i tried to jumper the thermistor and i think i popped a fuse as the green a/c light will no longer stay on. d-OH. anyone know where the a/c fuse is?

my next question, is how do i diagnose a bad thermistor. how does one jumper it to see if the a/c will drop to 40ish where it should cycle.

The first diagram below is for 96-00 Civics (R134a) and the second diagram is for the 92 Civic (R12). I'm not sure which is applicable to the 94 Civic.

Not absolutely sure, but I believe that you can remove and reinstall the thermostat without removing the evaporator.

well, the switch i may be able to replace, the sensor wires travel into the evaborator blower box though...

also fuse 13 is fine. i jumpered the outer 2 wires? what would this have broken?

Are you not able properly to position and secure the thermostat sensor against the evaporator fins without removing the evaporator and its covers?

Did you replace the evaporator as part of your A/C work?

Voltage test fuse 13. Click the Fuses link in my signature.

First make sure that fuse 13 has voltage at noth test tabs with the key in ON(II).

i did replace the evaporator as part of my installation, along with expansion valve, drier, and compressor. the thermostat has 3 wires at a clip right behind the glove box, on the outside of the evap box. then the sensor has 2 wires which enter the box and has a clip that goes between two evap fins. i took the box apart, and gently removed the clip from the old evap. i left the sensor connected to the evap box, hooked up the new expansion valve and evap, re-installed into the box, and re-clipped the sensor back into place. then i installed the whole box/evap back into the car.

and by pulling the evaporator, i meant pulling the box to allow me to retrieve the sensor portion from within

So I'm guessing that you don't think it's possible to reinsert the sensor into the clip after removal of the thermostat with the evaporator still in the car?

according to the diagram here, if i jumpered the blue/red and the black yellow/ at the 3 wire plug in, that would have yielded a blown up a/c control pannel correct?

If fuse 13 has voltage, plug the thermostat back in and then try grounding the Blu/Red wire at the rear of the heater control panel to see whether the A/C turns on.

nah, i dont see how i could, well, i could cut a small hole in the evap box to allow access... but i tihnk it would be about as easy to recover, replace thermostat, and recharge

i could just buy a new one, and hang it in the cabin, and let the evaporator freeze up ahah, that new compressor'd not last too long eh

No. Same wire but at the rear of the heater control panel.
