Default 1995 Accord Brake issue

In the last few hundred miles, the brake pedal has slowly gone all the way to the floor on me. Not all of a sudden, but slowly on a long brake slow down. If I let it back up, and re-press, it holds. The car has not lost braking power, but this obviously concerns me. It is not losing fluid in the reservior, and doesn't do it all the time.

Is this a master cylinder starting to fail?? Any other thoughts??

I have this same problem in my 96. Someone told me it was your drum brakes needing to be done.

Master cylinder is failing. Replace it before you drive it again or it could be fatal if it completely gives out.

I'm not playing around here.

Replaced. Toughest part of the job was getting to the mounting bolts (I didn't want to be fumbling around with the reservior off and getting dirt in there)

I assume it's braking great now ?

Some people have issues adjusting the push rod but it sounds like you didn't have any issues. Good job.

I took a chance and just swapped the master cylinder, no push rod adjustment. Brakes just fine now.
