Default Main fuel line question concerning fittings...

My question is if there is no pressure fitting on the main fuel line on the tank side will the line leak? My line was crippled when I replaced the tank so I simply cut the line short and used a fuel hose with a clamp on both ends but I'm having some leaking and bogging under hard throttle. Could not having a pressure fitting cause this leak/starving of fuel? Also this part seems to be discontinued, would it be ok to build a pressure line using JEGS fittings?

I have heard of alot of people doing this, cutting and just using rubber hose without any issues. However I suggest just to buy a premaid kit from go-autoworks. Heres the link....

Well that was one of my guesses, after that i was going to replace the gasket between the tank and the fuel pump housing. And thank you for that site, but i can build out a fuel line using the same fittings on JEGS' website for half of the price, and they have free shipping at the moment .
