Hello, I'm new to these forums! The front driver side window of my 2000 Civic EX no longer goes up or down, but I still hear it making the motor noise when attempting to do so. I called around and was told that it might be the regulator. I went to Honda to get an estimate ($650-eek!) and decided to have someone else do it. However, I have to buy the part. Autozone sells one by Dorman for $85, with a lifetime warranty.

Anyone ever use an aftermarket regulator or do you recommend finding the Honda part?

FWIW, I plan on keeping my car for another 5-10 years.

Um i got mine at advance auto for 32 bux, still works fine 3 yrs. later.....

 

And if the motor still works, u only need the regulator w/o the motor
