Door install .. what tools required?
anyone know what kind of tools i will need to install a door on my integra coupe? will basic hand tools suffice? can't afford the amount the body shop estimated, so i'm plannin on just buyin a used door and installin it myself (with the help of a friend).
isn't it just bolts on the hinges? (dunno never installed a door).. but my GUESS is that you have your friend lift/hold (or you) the door in place.. while you (or your friend) tightens the nuts on the hindges and connect the wiring harness...
from looking at my door.. this is how it looks attached (the bolts and hinges)... but I've never actually done it.. so its a guess.. sockets and ratchet might be too deep (not enough space/clearance) so you might want to make sure you have some combination/open end wrenches...

I haven't done much internally to my door.. cept for replace a broken door lock motor, adjust/re-position and tigthen the window guide/track rails, and install door speakers.. but to do those yeah it was all nuts and screws... I think if you have sockets, combination wrenches, and some screwdrivers you should be able to do it.. but like I said I haven't actually done a door install/swap.. so I'm just guessing.. but based on the thing's I have done w/ the door (listed above).. I used either screwdriver or ratchet/sockets....
All that should be needed are hand tools. The hardest part will be aligning the door but with the help of your freind it should be ok. The other part to consider is the main wiring harness that connects near the hinge. It's a little tricky to unplug but its not terrible. As far as the interior panneling goes, that stuff is easy. A phillips screwdriver should do that. The door handle unscrews and then the door latch panel unscrews. Then the door just pops off from the frame. It may take a little persuation but should be fine. Transfer all your parts and you should be good to go. You might want to lay the doors side by side so you can transfer in one shot and do some side by side comparisons. Hope that helps.

I think he's referring to taking off the inner handle so that you can take off the interior door panel since you said your going to be swapping the guts (window motors, speaker, etc.... if not then I think you just undo the wire loom/harness and undo the hinges while your friend holds the door so it doesn't fall down...
