Hey honda-tech,
First off I live in Canada and I own a 2000 Civic Si (D16Y8), and as usual me and my buddy (who owns the exact same car) were on Kijiji and found an amazing deal! We found a 99 SIR for $1000...Only one catch though...

So the guy managed to hit a tree....luckily he lived a few streets up...we bought the car and drove it home as wel LOL.. The CV Shaft boot was mangeled and the lower control arm and tie rods were bent to ****....Point is the car still ran and we even cracked v-tec on the way home, so lots of things are still in great condition. + I get a rear disc conversion
So now for my questions....
Since I basically have a donor car...Do I still need D to B mounts? or can I just straight swap all the mounts into my current engine bay?
Also I have decided to keep A/C (for now) so are the lines coming off the compressor different? or will I need the compressor/lines from a B series?
And one last question I have is can I use my current dash harness and just use the engine harness off the B-series? (ovs with the ecu from the b-series)

Thanks Guys!

both cars are obd2, so just take the motor and harness from the sir and put it in the other car.
the main 3 rubber mounts are the same. the brackets are not, swap those over. the rubber part of the torque mounts will have to be swapped over.
as for a/c, you can swap lines and compressor over. or use a del sol vtec a/c bracket and use your d series compressor.

yeah I know, thanks for good looking out though!
I'm most likely gonna take everything all the way back to the shifter its self since it has a short throw already installed. When I drove it to my buddys house the tranny seemed very healthy and smooth!

Nice man. Since you have the whole car the swap will be easy. Use the SiR harness, engine, ECU, trans, motor of course, mounts if they are still good and that is all you will need. It will be a super simple plug and play swap. You can also swap over the SiR gauge cluster, seats and whatever else you like. All plug and play. Oh swap over that front strut bar as well. ND do that rear disc conversion for sure, good time to replace the trailing arm bushing with a solid one as well. As for the AC since you have everything on the SiR to make the B series compressor work then use that, all you need to change is the compressor and the AC lines coming off the compressor, you will use the B series compressor and lines

Thanks! Will do. Hopefully the rain here holds up and I can pull this motor quick lol
Thanks as well lol. Yeah I'm, deff doing the rear disk conversion and cluster swap..as for seats I have Acura EL Leathers...Lol so in the summer thats why I need the A/C
Unfortunately for the strut bar I cannot use it since the studs are not there in my engine bay since its not an SIR, but I will most likely find a strut bar that mounts up to the strut tower and run that...Im running Standard Suspension R1's and they are amazing....but a strut bar will always help

where in canada are you located?
fyi, those studes are bolts from under the wheel well. there should be plugs in your car now where those came from.
put the sir badge on there too! lol

Oh yeah forgot the rear sway bar. Swap that over for sure it is a direct bolt on. I Have a 99 Si/EM1 rear sway bar on my 98 Hx and it made a noticeable difference.

And oh yeah there are plugs but they seem to be metal like a plyable metal cover I'll probably try what nealnanoHX said! And aha yeah SiR badge for sure

Thats something that didn't cross my mind! Hopefully I can do that today if this rain holds up...not sure if you heard but Toronto got flooded and has been hit with a huge amount of rain! But thanks! Deff soemthing I'll do.
And yeah I hope it does make a difference lol Im already slammed on Standard Suspension R1's (Just coilovers no struts or sways) Love the handling just from that but now you've hyped me up about this rear sway

Thanks Guys!!!

Yeah! They are starks lol! Finally someone who doesn't just assume they are GSR Blades...I got them for a sweet deal...They were originally white , but I had them refinised blue but I'm most likely gonna re-finish them myself in white again lol! Here are some Pics

if it weren't too damned expensive to ship rims and the such I'd offer to buy the orig SI ones off of you
Good luck with your swap man

Good luck with your swap man
Yeah just see what the strut bar mounting looks like from inside the wheel well. Most people just drill the holes and use some good grade 8 hardware to bolt in in place.

But even if I could I dont think I could sell the original Si's lol I love them and they're in almost mint condition....minus the person who curb rashed them before me.Thank You, tonight im going to be doing compression test ad leakdown test with the help of one of my buddy's and hopefully I'll be dropping the headers/downpipe + full exhaust and draining/removing the rad and A/C aswell as CV shaft so we can get the cherry picker and just pull this thing out.
Yeah, hopefull tonight I can put this shell on stands and take a look underneath maybe I can try and re-use the bolts and transfer them to my silver one. If not I agree with you on the grade 8 hardware! Thanks!
I know!
Those things look cherry.
I've been looking for another set to throw on mine while I resto the ones on my current 99 SI, I'd then take them and throw them on the 92HB I've got.
But yea, You've got yourself a good amount of carry over parts as long as they aren't bent up too badly.
Full swaybar assemblies, new RTA's with rear discs, a hell of a steal for 1000$

Thanks! I worked on them a long time! If you dont mind me asking what city are you located in? Im sure theres gotta be a set out there for you!
And oh yeach considering I got a full donor car for $1000 if deff FTMFW. I mean a full B-Swap up here is so over-priced (B16)....The cheapest quote i got for a full swap (With NO labour) was $2500...and I'm pretty well integrated into the car community so I feel like I made an amazing deal considering I can sell my D-swap for $500 LOL.
Yeah KILLER deal for only $1000 the motor alone is worth that retain price. Hell B series Vtec heads are selling for $500+ I have seen $700 for GSR heads bone stock.

I ended up having a buddy of mine come do some tests..the compression test read 190 across all 4 (mid 180's for the one closest to the timing belt), leakdown test...the thing held compression like a champ! A fuel pressure test was good too (Not that I really needed it since I already have a good fuel pump in my car).
