I posted a similar thread in the Member's Corner, then realized that no one would EVER respond to it there. At least not with anything helpful or intelligent.

I'm looking into buying some CF fabric with a reasonable-size project in mind. My question is.... there's just about an endless amount of different styles/weaves, weights, etc. If anyone has any knowledge on purchasing/using CF Fabric, shoot me an IM. Thanks much....

 

I'd suggest just buying a little bit first and experimenting with it to get used to working with it. You also need to consider what type of resin/epoxy you will use to harden the fabric as it makes a big difference. Ask the store you're getting it from... cuz if you want a stiff, but flexible end product, they will give you something quite different than if you want a completely stiff CF piece

 

So far I was just reading online at a few sites about their products. I was planning on buying a small amount to play around with and see what I end up with. Any stores that you recommend? Thanks.

I think Folia Tec sells a kit with the fabric and resin. I have no experience with it, I just saw it in a mag.
