Hi fellas!
Ok I got a 97 'Lude and I think I'm getting an Agressor kit. But I need a back, and my friend suggested me getting an "add-on" . I'm moving my car to NYC and since I've never driven w/ a kit, I'm kinda scared. I've seen cracked lips and fallen kits and it hurts <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsad.gif" BORDER="0">
I don't have any specific questions, other than if anyone is in NYC and can recommend some good shops and people to do this stuff for cheap? Also, would my car look stupid if it's kitted out, but no rims or exhaust and not dropped? I'm thinking of waiting till Spring to drop it but would I look silly ? Is there a proper sequence of modification?
Sorry for sounding so "duh"...and growing up w/ guys that do this stuff , u'd like I would know a thing or 2.

sorry, but your not gonna get much help from most of these guys about body kits, but as for the aggressor, you'll have no problems about breaking it, it's urethane, so it's nice and flexible. here's a pic of my 5th gen with a Skyline R34 style kit w/ Z3 fenders and a Predator hood

well, i guess it depends on what kit your thinking about getting. If you get like a aggresive/extreme type of kit, IMO it wouldn't look too hot with stock wheels and no drop, but if you have like a mugen or a simple clean kit then It might look alright for the time being. But its your money and your car, so my tip to you babe is to do what ever it is you like. And if you get clowned on "F**k" them.

Body kits do nothing.. Other than make you a stunna, you may as well buy a visor, turn it sideway, pimp the the left, and rev on Neon's...

I'm not a stunna...besides, why judge somebody according to their car? Oh well, my advice would be to not get the Aggressor kit just because I don't think it flows with the Prelude's body style. You need either a beefy kit, like Black Widow or Skyline front, or a clean OEM lip or Wings West RS lip. Those would be your best bets...as far as price goes, don't go to absolutely cheap places, otherwise that'll be the type of job you get.

 

Im the number one stunna around here, and i'll rev on a neon all day long. If you gotta get a kit, get the WW body kit, nice, clean, and not to big.

 

mugen front/rear (knock-off with bodyshop fitment) with oem sides looks best IMO. Or if you have the cash, get the azect kit

I agree, but to each his own.. what ever floats your boat.. i personally think that with the OEM front, side and rear look the best.. they dont change the lines or the car and dont draw too much attention to the car... (which normally assures me that my car will be there when i get back, and not stolen...) not to mention i would perfer spending the money under the hood where it counts... just my $0.02

 

I am in NYC, and the suggestions made by most of the guys here are valid.. If you gonna get a kit get a clean one like the West Wings and then if you wish you can do the drop and rims stuff later..

My order of preforance is:

Engine
Suspension
Rims
Braking
Bodykit

Keep in mind though if you are not planning on doing much to your engine then
you can skip that one..

Update : I'm looking at the Agressor cuz it's urothane, and yall know chics and kits...bad mix. And I'm getting the front, and sides for cheap (?) but need a back. Anyone know the best way for me to get a back bumper, or add-on piece?
