Thoughts on my suspension setup .. :D
Hey fellow Hond-Tech.
I have a 1990 Civic Si, Very clean for a 20+ Y/O car.
It isn't perfect but I have huge intentions with it!

My main topic on this thread is to get the opinion and the thoughts on my suspension plan to you guys, to see if its worth my hard earned money.
Coilovers : Function & Form Type 1

I am looking maybe at a 1.5 - 2.00 Inch drop? I'm not sure yet.
Lower Control Arms: Function 7:

I know the Function 7's are pricey, but I'd much rather purchase a high quality suspension part now and not have problems, than spend less and have problems, thus spending more money.
That's pretty much it for my suspension kit, let me know if I am going to need anything else.
My EF is rust free on the shell, but it has some surface rust (Florida Car), but it is again an old vehicle!
And I am most likely going to purchase Si Blades from a em1 so im not going to be "Hellaflush" haha.
But again let me know what you guys think, or what I should get different.

save your money, unless your going to be tracking your car the lca's aren't going to help, those coilovers are also known to leak, and just for people who want to be low.

I wouldn't mind saving money, I am just thinking about the money spent overtime if I get shitty parts.
I wasn't 100% set on the coilovers and lcas , what setup should I run. I'm looking for a 1.45-2" drop, for daily driving.

Start with basic maintenance on the car.
Making sure brakes are good with fresh fluid, replace any ball joints that have play, buy new tires, then evaluate what's really needed.
And unless it's already been done recently, the steering rack needs to be rebuilt.

^^^What this guy said...especially the steering rack part.
What's the opinion and reasoning behind requiring a steering rack rebuild? Do they have a tendency to wear out?
Everything in the car is well. I've had the car for well over a month and have had all that good stuff checked out. Thanks for the input.
Skip the sh!tty coilovers (they are POS's) and the bling rear LCAs (pointless) and start with maintenance items.
Then, pick a good shock (like a Koni yellow) and quality lowering spring and have a nice daily that'll provide years of enjoyment and reliability.

Bushings, ball joints, tie rods and similar stuff will help. Look at either hard race or energy suspension. Both decent company's and will definitely firm it up with a good set of struts and coil overs.
Thanks guys! I planned on doing energy suspension poly bushings before all the suspension work. I will also look into Koni's and make sure my suspension is a.o.k.
energy suspension is a good way to bind your suspension. cheap, takes lots of work, and wear out quicker than rubber.
nothing beats OEM rubber bushings for daily street application.

koni yellow and some kinda nice spring (H&R, progress, etc...)
or Progress or AMR coilovers
yes for the LCAs... I have a set, and they are beautiful. useless, but beautiful. treat yourself.

On my 91 hatch I went with e the energy suspension bushings and a set of skunk2 pro seres coil overs . The reason I went with them is because they are setup for my specific car on the damping and spring rate by skunk 2 testing. I trust they will do a better job them me .so far there are grate I I'm really happy with them all i had to do was set the ride hite can't what to get them on the track
eBay buy $620

For a 2 inch max drop, I'd go with Progress CSII coil overs with 350/250 spring rates they cost just as much as the f&f coils ($595 through the marketplace) but are leaps and bounds above them in quality, unfortunately they are always on back order. I'd keep the stock LCAs, press in new oem bushings, get a good sway bar and have a fun daily.

i would go knoni yellow/ground control for dropping your car. best bang for your buck suspension, and the ride quality is still great. the f7 LCA's are the only after market lca's i would rock after using blox ones. took them off after two years, bushings are almost all disintegrated and are all torn up. stay away from them. oem works fine, but yes they aren't that bling blingy. more bling attracts more thieves though
