Icon2 Timing issues

Okay so I wanna clean and check the head. Well my car has 175000 miles so I'm wanting to change the timing and water pump but how do I know if the timing will be right if I put the new belt on and its not matched up like the old one. Because you're supposed to mark the timing belt when you take it off. I don't want to screw up the car by putting a new one on without advice first....

Mine was pushed to 200+ but my belt was absolutely shredded beyond belief with cracks between every tooth.

Hey guys, new member here. I need to ask this question but i cant start new threads, so forgive me for hijacking this thread! I have an 02 accord 4 cylinder se, and the check engine light has come on. Oil is good, all of the listed problems in the manual are fine, and the more i read the more i think it could be a timing issue. Does anyone know if this could be the problem? Thanks

Which accord do you have?

Are you having issues with the head? Also, the timing belt link posted saved me tons of money.

Once you change the timing belt the first time, it will be a breeze the next time. Just make sure you have all the tools listed in the link above.

Not sure where you live but in most states (not CA) many parts stores will read/check the codes for free....just be sure to get the actual code from them and not their decription of the issue.
