Hondata s300 for JUST boost controll?
this might sound kind of crazy but i am a huge fan of the s300 boost by gear, the things i can make it do to street cars i tune is just amazing. i have been running AEM EMS on my car with EPM and im not willing to go back to distributor setup.
now 500 for a boost controller that does exactly what i want would be cheap.
making it work with minimal inputs crank trigger form obd2 gsr, power, grounds, second map sensor? what els am i missing to making it run without running the engine?

I just gotta ask to see if im reading this right. You have a car running on AEM, and it will continue to run on AEM, but you want to add an S300 to just control boost by gear? SO, socketed ecu + S300 unit + boost solenoid + wiring this nighmare, or just set it up via the AEM the car already runs on
For a serious answer.
You can run it parallel BESIDES the position sensors because the EPM signals are different then stock distributor. All you would need is position signal to do boost by gear outside of the VSS and other small things.
BUT, on that note. IF you want something close to hondatas boost control, look into haltech. you can setup boost control in MANY different ways.

it doesnt seem too hard.. anyone know if the oem crank trigger will send the right signal to the s300? or the aem tach output to the s300? boos by vss sucks in the aem.
that doesnt seem to good for street cars,i can see it getting confused from doing a few highway pulls. just like the ams units suck for street cars because there time base.
I like the Boost Leash seems very easy to use.
i have boost by speed kinda working since the car is on 26s.even with the boost by vss working right with rear wheel speed,i feel like i can get more out of the boost by gear, ramping by rpm and tuning to the tire is great.
Boost by speed is no different than boost by gear. Its just a math channel. Boost by speed is 100 times better because you can run different boost amounts in the same gear. It all has to be based on ground speed, not drive speed. Boost control off the front vss is a joke.
I promise you won't be disappointed. Rear speed is the way to go. Boost based off a spinning front tire just keeps you chasing your tail.
