Default cruise light comes on when i press the brakes

just did a swap in my 93 eg hatch everything went smoothly until i moved it and the brakes arent working. ran the car into my porch the car is ok but the porch will be hurting fore awhile. anyways long story short brakes arent working and my cruise controll light comes on when i hit the brakes anyone exsperience this problem before

There could be at least 20 things that could be the issue. Hydraulicly speaking, what do brakes have anything in common with a motor swap I assume you to mean? I mean, why would they get touched at all? I would bleed out all four wheels first to see if things respond correctly.
The cruise light issue is something different. There are usually two switches on the brake lever under the dash. One for the lights and one for the cruise. Unless you did some re-wiring to something under there; I can't understand from the limited info what could be wrong. I know that the cruise switch is used to power the module on, how power is getting from the brake switch is very strange. Did you do much wiring for the swap?
