Default can't push strut fork up

I am changing all of my ball joints and tie rod ends. I got everything disassembled and replaced on the passenger side, but now i can't push the strut fork up to bolt it together. It is pushed down past the suspension and won't go back up. I have tried a spring compressor, jack under neath and brute force. Any tips besides killing myself (which seems like the next logical step against my better judgment).

Have you removed (unbolted) the sway bar endlinks from the control arms?

You were replacing the balljoints and unbolted the shock fork? No need to do that. What year Accord do you have? It could be that the shock may have jammed while extended, had a Monroe shock do that to me. You may have to dissemble the coilover to coax the shock to work again.

Were you only replacing the BJs?

Good call on that one too, I was assuming they had the fork attached correctly with the shock first prior to doing anything. He may be trying to shove the stuff in at slightly the wrong angle.

I got it. I was trying to pull everything up. I stood on the rotor and it went down to where i needed the holes to line up. Thanks for all the suggestions

so stepping on the rotor gave the suspension more slack to fit into the top mounting points. lol! I learned this with my hatch along time ago.
