Default Wheel Cylinders

As long as I'm working on brakes.... Is there more than one size of rear wheel cylinder? I know SI's have rear disks, but I alas have the weaker brother, a 91 DX.

I see many PN's for wheel cylinders, some are labeled "1500 HF" some HF/DX, some "base model" and others have none of the above.

{examples}

BENDIX Part # 34056
EIS Part # EW155197
CONI-SEAL Part # WC14056
AMERICAN REMANUFACTURERS INC. Part # 8408103

What's the reality?

The reality is you're cross referencing part#'s from different companies. They aren't all going to use the same part#'s. Try using a honda based parts site (hondaautomotiveparts for example) and cross reference from there by trim level for your car (or cars you're trying to compare).

If you live anywhere with rust, just go ahead and order the little "u" shaped hard line that attaches to the wheel cylinder as well. You will need it.

Thanks, I have those already. It looks like the HF & DX use the same cylinder PN#'s.

Rock Auto has far better pricing and selection, but some confusion on HF vs DX,
