Default Accord wagon 5 lug questions

So I'm looking into doing a 5 lug swap on my 95 ex wagon, my question is about wheel offset. Will the 5 lug swap make a difference in wheel offset? Does the different hubs/knuckles make a difference in the width of the car? And is there a better setup then the 95-98 odyssey? All the posts I've seen are really old so I just wanna make sure. TIA!

I can't tell any difference in offest between the hub-over-rotor 4-lug, the ROH 4-lug, and the 5-lug using the Odyssey knuckle and hub. The V6 knuckle and the wagon knuckle are the same as the Odyssey, but only the Odyssey uses 5 lug ROH. I looked into the possibility of using a 98-02 V6 knuckle and hub, and it might work, but the only way to tell is to try it, and I knew the Odyssey would work, so why bother.

So I will add that what works for me on my 94 EX with 5-lug conversion is 17x8 rims with +45 offset with 215/45 tires on the front, and 17x8 +40 with 225/45 tires on the rear. I might get away with +45 on the rear if I ran the 215 tires there, but it would be really close. However, 7 inch rims would work. But I like the 8 inch ones.

ok so still trying to research this 5 lug conversion, went to many many sites and read about this swap but there is soo much uncertainty about the different models that will work. For me the 95-98 ody front is hard to find in the junk yards here, and if I read correctly the 98-02 accord v6 front knuckle assy from upper ball joint to lower ball joint will work, but I found that in the 4th gen site. Will that still work for the 5gen wagon? for the rear no matter what it seems like I will need to swap to the accord coupe/sedan rear trailing arm assy and run 97-01 prelude rear hubs. I found a 00 accord v6 sedan and can get the parts I need if it will work. So.... will the 98-02 accord v6 front assy stamped S5 work?

I went to the salvage yard and pulled a Gen 6 knuckle and a Gen 5 one, laid them on the counter side-by-side and took measurements. It looked like they would work, but the only way to really tell is to put them on the car and see. And you might run into a problem if you have ABS, because I know the Gen 6 rear hub has a different number of teeth than the Gen 5 hub and are located slightly differently. I guess you can deal with that, but it is just so much easier to use the Odyssey parts. Also, you do know that the Gen 6 rear suspension is totally different from the Gen 4/5 ? You have to swap the spindles out of a Gen 6 into the knuckles of a Gen 5. Press them out of the 6 and press them into the 5. And you will need a 1/8 inch spacer either behind the spindle or in front of the hub bearing, or the nut won't seat on the hub.

Yes I know the rear suspension is different, I actually wasn't planning on trying to use the rear hub at all. For the rear I was gonna use the sedan knuckle with the prelude hubs. My problem is that there isn't any 95-98 odysseys around for parts and I have access to a 00 V6 accord sedan.

If you use the Gen 4/5 knuckle for the rear with the Prelude hub, you will have to replace the spindle or there be enough threads to seat the nut properly. I know that lots of people run them that way, but I want that nut properly installed and the only way is to change out the spindle.

If you use the front knuckle from the sedan, let me know how it works out. I almost tried that.

And just for fun I have been looking around at Honda rotors to see how big a rotor is available from the factory. The max seems to be 300mm. There are bigger, but after 300mm Honda changes to a 5x120 bolt pattern. A possibility is a Nissan 350Z rotor. The right bolt patter, depth, width, but the hub is 68mm and I need one for 70.1. Now to find a shop that enlarge it for me.

ok, Im still waiting for the accord parts to become avail. The owner is stripping down the car and doesn't want to take off the suspension parts until the entire car is stripped so he can still move it around if needed. ill let you know after I try it out to see how it works. thanks!!

I just did a 4-lug ROH wagon conversoin by using a 97 CL 2.3 knuckle, keeping the wagon caliper and caliper bracket, and a 98 CL 3.0 rotor. 5 lug was too much work when this was all i needed to buy
