Will some one please help me out. I was on my way to lunch today and my 88' hatch with a ls in it started throwing code 17 I think. Its 1 long flash follow'd by 7 short pulses. My car already threw code 10 this is air intake temp. this is causing the car to idle very low any way. Now when its at idle and you floor the gas it slowly wraps until about 2000 rpm then it opens up like an ls should do. Please any suggestions would be nice.

Code 17 is the VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) Does your speedo still worK? Make sure the cable is attached snuggly to the cluster and into the transmission

 

The speed'o quit working about 1 month ago but I had a mugen chip in it and it didnt throw a code. Just last night I replaced this chip with a Jet performance chip and this chip only threw code 10 just like the mugen chip. I drove it to work today and it ran good until it started throwing this code. can this code make the car run like ****?

 

you probably won't have your full redline...have you checked?
