Icon6 Wire tuck! A/C help!

Alright so I'm getting a wire tuck from a great friend for $120, and a battery/fuse box relocation! But he won't take out the A/C (it doesn't work anymore, had it re-charged and still wouldnt work for more than an hour or so..) But i found another guy who would do it and charge me $20. So my question is how do you take out the a/c? I just want to know the steps, dos and don'ts, stuff like that so i don't hand out $20 for something that I could've done. Anyone have tutorials?

Evacuate the system. Remove all ac related parts.

I have a hard time believing anyone is going to replace all the ac parts for just $20. Odds are he's just going to evacuate the system for that price, not actually do anything to remove the entire ac system.

Basically open the hood and remove anything that has to do with the ac, and... yeah. that's pretty much the easy way to do it

sounds like he's not replacing the A/C, only "deleting" it. even with that, the job is definately worth more than $20. If I were doing this for someone i would either charge what it's worth (i think $50-60) or do it for free (free= )

anyway, to answer the initial question the responsible and legal thing to do is to have the refrig. evacuated. most shops that do a lot of A/C work should be able to do this for you. then everything can come out. use good quality wrenches for breaking the lines loose. they are aluminum and are easy to damage. you will need to go in under the dash and pull out the evaporator then plug the hole in the ducting and firewall. you'll need to pull the battery and radiator and maybe a few other things to get to all of the lines and components. I've done a few civics recently but it's been a while since i've done an accord.. i think the bumper cover comes off to access everything easily. maybe someone else can confirm that.

that's it. for a first timer, i would set aside 2-3hrs.
