Someone school me on clutches!
Someone school me on clutches. I'm doing a b16b swap this next month. Wanted to upgrade the clutch while I had it out. It will be a basic bolt on car in a 98 coupe tuned on s300. Not much more than that to start. I plan on running it for time attack and auto x. What should I be looking for?
Clutch recommendations will vary depending on peoples opinion. For a bolt on car I like to stick with stock stuff because its easy to drive smooth and lasts a long time. Cost wise its a great bargain too considering a stock type r spec exedy kit can be had on ebay for 140-150 shipped. The other I would consider is the exedy stage 1. Very sturdy for hard driving and also smooth to drive with as well. The other stage 2 and up clutchs are really just overkill for basic setups and cost goes up significantly.
Depends, will you be hard launching?
more power than stock?
clutching in and out alot?
smashing on the drivetrain?
just get a decent one like exeddy / ACT. they are really cheap like pennies..

We have a local drag strip and I have a set of 22" m&h slicks. Also plan on a lot of auto x and time attack. Will be driven to local events. Yes the complete swap....
