01 accord v6, how to remove rotor? axle nut too?
?... for 01 accord v6, im changing rotors and pads. I got screws and backet off but do I havr to take off the axle but too? Or do I jus hit rotor hat with hammer to nock it loose?
Remove axle. Remove four bolts on the back of the knuckle then remove the whole hub/rotor assembly. Then you can remove the hub and install it on the new rotor before installing the whole assembly back onto the knuckle.
If you have swivel sockets and some ingenuity you can avoid removing the axle.

If you are just replacing the rotor, then there is no need to remove the hub and axle. Talk out the two screws holding the rotor to the hub and it will come off. It may be rusted to the hub, so put a couple of screws in the two screw holes in the rotor and it will press the rotor off the hub. Or, since you aren't going to reuse the old rotor, just whack it with a hammer on the back side.
that did the trick.
on civic/tegs the center hub to rotor hat is not as "tight" as on this accord.
So normally once the screws come off the hat, the rotor wobbles off.... (unlike this accord lol)
Thanks
