Hey all.. recentl did a head gasket on the youths 96 accord.. apparently it was cheap, or I did something wrong as it blew a few miles in.. Against popular belief that i should get rid of the car due to pure frustration I went ahead and pulled her back apart..

New head bolts, felpro gasket.. everything is clean, cleaned out bolt holes etc.. lubed bolts and heads/washers.. done enough HG's to be very tired of them in my life..

For the life of me I cannot get this thing to torque down without a squeek friction from a couple bolts.. I had it happen on "one" bolt on the previous gasket thus was my thought of why it failed.. now I have 3 that will not shut up..

Just concerned about leaving it like this as I feel I will be in for another head gasket once again..

I do not want to "lube" up to much as I do not need my bolt holes causing any suction or to filled with lube causing issues with torque..

Suggestions? want it out of the shop today! hehhe

 

My guess is that your block is warped. My advice...get a used jdm engine and quit playing with that one.

 

Or USDM... Might save a few bucks

 

I'd agree sounds like the engine is french toast.

 

I had one bolt squeek on me, but left it after I backed it out and re-torque, same result. Everything was fine. It was on a D16Y8 Civic.
