I would suggest investing in coilovers... A lot depends on what kind of ride you want. You want stiff and handles like its on rails or do you want it a little stiffer then stock with improved handling.
I prefer a very stiff ride and maximum handling.
Once you decided it will he easier to know in which direction to go in. There is a lot of good info you can search and read up on it.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions here too!

i don't want to feel like im riding on rails! i take it the improved handling stiff would be the lowering springs/new shocks?
The HFP suspension will lower your car about .8", is supposed to be stiffer than stock, and should have the OEM reliability. You can find it for $600-650 online. Aftermarket coilovers are hit-and-miss; you'll probably be dealing with worn bushings, blown struts, etc after a couple years. If you want to improve handling from there, get a rear sway bar and front camber bolts (to increase camber).

If you're set on aftermarket suspension, I'd recommend Koni yellow struts with some kind of decent spring. The Neuspeed sport (1.6" drop) and Neuspeed race (2.0" drop) both have good reviews. This setup will cost under $1K, and will be better than any $1K coilover.
