Default So the Apex'i N1 doesn't fit USDM Teg's eh?

Well this past Saturday, I went and picked up a 1yr old Apex'i N1 catback for the GS-R from a fellow H-T member. Smooth and easy sale, sat around and chit-chatted for a few mins, then finally made my way home.

Fast Fwd to Mon then I attempt the install. He included the testpipe to fit the JDM 2.5" collector for me, but since I'm running the stock USDM header, I took it off thinking the exahust would bolt right up to the cat.. not happening. The N1 is a good 3-4" too short than the stock catback, any idea why?? Is the exhaust itself only for use with the JDM header or what? Damn.. and I though I'd be running my N1 already!

Mine bolted right up.
That may be why he gave you the test pipe.
94-97 tegs may have longer cat backs that 98+ tegs.
98+ tegs have longer y pipes on the header.

While I've never owned a JDM ITR header I believe that they are longer than a stock GSR's. Looks like its time for someone to get a JDM ITR header

Well the TP is about the same length as the stock cat, so I guess it's only for the JDM header unless I find a USDM 94-97 GS-R header.

maybe he cut the piping so it would fit the header.
