Injector pulse..
Hi guys,
New to the forum as I've just got a CRX-DelSol - UKspec.
Had the car a few days and it developed some interesting electrical faults preventing car from starting....
The car cranks, but doesnt fire.
The engine will fire on aerostart, but then dies.
It has good, constant spark.
Fuel pump runs.
Injectors have power (noid light tested, light stays on when cranking)
ECU is fine, tried a replacement.
ECU grounds are fine, ran them again just to be sure.
Continuity to injectors from ECU is fine.
Battery and fuel levels are ok.
The symptom essentially is no injector pulse to ground the injectors...
I've tried everything I can think of to get it to fire, but it still wont have it. I'm this close to burning the fu*ker at this point.
Does anyone have any ideas? - I was thinking possibly a crank sensor not sending pulse, but would that stop the engine firing?

How'd this happen? What work was being done?
What ECU - OBD0, OBD1 or OBD2?
A bad CKP sensor or circuit would prevent the injector pulses, but then there would also be no spark.

Turn key off. Unplug ECU connector A. Check whether you measure continuity to body ground at pins A23 and A24 individually in the free connector.

Tried swapping in a good ECU, with the same generation etc....still had the same result.
Does a D16y8 have a crank angle sensor? Could that be related?
Thanks for the help, i really apprecate it.

Unplug ECU connector A and turn the key to ON(II).
Do you measure battery voltage to body ground at pins A11 and A24?

Yes, it's got a crankshaft position sensor in the distributor (CKP) and Crank Fluctuation sensor attached to the oil pump (CKF)

Unplug the primary O2 sensor and see if it starts. Normally it wont matter, but very rarely a bad O2 sensor can result in a no start condition.

pins A11 & 24 both measure approx 12v with ignition on.
pin 9 is about 19 ohms and pin 22 is about 6 ohms - although the cable colour in the loom seems to be red and black not brown and black for pin 22?
Tried turning it over with no O2 sensor and still the same result...
