everytime i shift in gear i hear clunking noises, can anyone tell me what this is? a lot of people are telling me different things and i don't i want to replace a problem that maybe not the problem at all.

 

please be more specific, where is the noise coming from? it could be as simple as bushings or as serious as the tranny eating itself. does it feel like the rods are hitting the floor when you shift? when does this occur?

the noise is coming from the transmission. it clunks as i shift, and when im in neutral, its kinda making a whining noise, but right when i press the clutch the noise disappears
