Default Hondamotorsonline and engine mileage

They state that the B18C5, "Motors have 17,000 miles and come with 100% start up warranty." Can this be trusted?

Not all will have 17,000 miles or less, but steve will tell you the mileage.
Mine had 22,000 and I believe it.
It looked great and runs even better.

Ok, I did a search after I posted the topic. It seems like their reputation is rapidly declining.

yeah that's what i'm staring to see too....
but maybe it's just that they have grown so fast so soon that they can't give out quality motors(like when they first started) and good customer service.

lol..dude don't believe that.

Haven't you seen how many young people have CRX's, EG's, DC's and what not with modded engines in Japan? I know a few people who do business in japan and this whole they 'swap new' motors in at 30K....hahahaha.....it's a crock.

True, the average JDM motor will have less mileage than it's USDM counterpart, but don't think a 10 year old engine is going to come over fresh as a whistle.

BTW, I'm currently getting dicked by HMO too. Steve practically REFUSES to send me a receipt! WTF is that!?

Also, I'm missing a few parts that's hindering me from getting my engine in..he said they shipped out last wednesday via UPS.....umm, no..obviously they didn't. Coast to coast via UPS ground tops is one week.

HMO

Rukkus233 (TC) you are right Hondamotorsonline sucks ***, that's why we got rid of that ****. The whole driver side mounting holes in the block were stripped out. They grinded down the edges on the bolts and shot them in with an impact gun. I guess they didn't think that i was gonna change the timing belt and water pump, to see the bent bolts and aluminum filings all over the place. My other friend JDM88CRX (Mike) got his 1st gen B16 from them, it ran fine until the thrust washer fell out and destroyed the bottom end..... It may be fine now, but I still say **** Hondamotorsonline.

I did'nt receive a receipt, and didn't receive the distributor I was supposed to get. The hell with Steve and HMO. He proved himself a liar and bad business owner.

also if the cars need to be renewed at 30k, then i would think that the driver beats on the engine a lot.(just my thoughts)

who is the best bet for a good motor now-a-days? everyone claims to be the best now and its such a gamble.

It is kinda sad to see how their reputation is declining so quickly. I bought a 1g b16a from hondamotorsonline over a year ago and it came in such great condition. Once installed it ran great. They even sent me a distributor when mine went out. I had a very pleasant experience with them but now it seems like more and more people are not having the same experiences. But when buying a used motor you are taking a risk so you should know that before you go buying a used jdm engine.
