Q's about the seats
I was told in the past about taking the actual rails from a '88-'91 CRX seats and bolt it to stock Civic seats (from '92-'95).
I've done a search but no luck.
If anyone had experciece with this, let me know in what is needed to be done.
My Crx seats are done, but I have my Civic seats laying around.
Thank you,
bert
I've done it to the drivers seat....it was a temp situation, so I didn't do the cleanest job (just made it work). The seat sat high, and there was fabrication/drilling on where the inner rail mounted. I'll try to explain.
If you take the rails off of the 92-95 seat, you will see that there is only one bar where the outide rail would be. The rail from the CRX will pretty much bolt right up to that bar (have to widen one hole). The other side has nothing to bolt to. I drilled a hole in the rear and used an anchor bolt to connect the rail there. Then I lined up where the front hole would be, and drilled a hole. This left a space of about 1.5" from the bottom of the seat pan to the CRX rail. Had to fill that with a spacer (made mine from wood with a hole drilled through it), and used a long bolt to anchor it.
Now your rails are mounted, but the seat back is not sturdy at all. Only one side is connected. I took a piece of 1/8" aluminum and drilled 2 holes to line up to secure the seatback. This works, but it saggs on the inside a little and is wobbley.
Like i said, i didn't take the time to see if i could get this to work any better....but it was a decent temp situation.
Good luck
