help! head bolt hole stripped
so i was putting my motor together and went to torque the head down and when i got to to a head bolt and noticed it it just kept spinning so took the bolt out and the threads on it are fine so i figured the threads in the block are done does anybody have a solution on how to fix this oh and yea im boosting the motor so i need it to hold
Time Sert it. PERIOD
No other fix for this application will hold BETTER than the stock threads. I did the same thing as you and after researching I ended up drilling out all 10 head stud holes even though 9 were fine and time serting the whole thing. Kit costs nearly $400 but the time-serted threads will be cold welded to the head. Many race teams do this to ALL their blocks before the initial build begins.
Oh yeah... I did all 10 without pulling the block. It took about 45 minutes and it's still holding strong 10K later.
Where you at? I have the Honda/Acura master kit.

Bummer, I'm in Baltimore, I was gonna say just buy the serts and use my kit LOL.
If you're block is worth a **** it's a worthwhile investment IMO. You can source a new short block for the same cost as the kit but you have to remember the time-sert is not just a repair it's also an upgrade.
I should sell these *******.
