Default OBD0 Number 1 cylinder position.. 9 blinks..

I cannot get rid of this... Does it mean i need a new cylinder or to just adjust it? I don't notice any actual problems with the engine what so ever... i only have 2 issues left. I've fixed everything else. Just this cylinder thing and Vtec wont kick in or i don't notice it. I want to say one time i started the car and took off and the vtec worked and it kicked hard but since then i haven't noticed it what so ever. could this cylinder be part of the issue? I don't even notice any performance issues (minus vtec) and no noises. is there a sensor that may be bad? please help and thanks for your time.

The ECU is looking for the top dead center position of number one cylinder, it cannot see it. I believe this is telling you that you have a distributor issue (the source of the tdc signal). If you can resolve this issue, I believe your engine will run properly.
Good Luck!

Ok i did put in a brand new distributor from autozone and im getting very good spark on all spark plugs. I'll try to do a TDC when i get back from my leave in two weeks and hopefully that will cure this issue. Thank you for your quick response friend.
(i've never done a TDC (top dead center) but im sure google will walk me through it . its a B16a2

one more thing... would that possibly also cause my Vtec to not kick in? could it maybe be the timing on the dist? i notice you can adjust it forward or back a bit maybe thats the issue. i guess i just loosen the bolts while its running and try to rotate the distributor left or right? Until it idles better or what? Should i go rent a timing gun maybe? never really done this before but it doesn't seem to difficult...
