Anybody here try/ or own the snapon auto darkening helmets yet? How are they? Pretty reliable stuff? Do you get flashed welding with inverter machines? Looking into one when the snapon guy comes by. Was looking at a speedglas or jackson but having the truck account is leaning me towards the snapon.

Snap on, Mac, Marco products are all made by another company then marked up a lot.
Find out who makes it, buy from them and save money.

Agreed. I have used that truck account many times because it is easy to spend a few dollars every week. But you can often find a product of equal value for much less money if it doesn't have one of the big names on it like Snap-On.

Just depends what kind of shop you work in. Some shops make you feel bad if you don't have the name brand tools. I have always worked in shops that don't really care as long as you know your stuff.

 

Snap-on makes some stuff, not others. For instance, their sockets, wrenches, etc., their baseline of products, are all made by snap-on. The beach towels, grills, flashlights, welders, helmets, etc., are made by someone else and have a snap-on logo slapped on.
