Default looking to mod my accord

got a 94 honda accord coupe auto with a F22b2 wit 170k miles after a tune up(spark plugs up a size, oil change, water pump and timing belt, gasket seals) looking to add horsepower wanted to add a F23A intake manifold and AEM cold air intake maybe change cams. should i do all that and what else? Oh and im not gonna make the swap to a H22 cuz i wanna do all the mods myself and engine swaps are to much of a pain in da azz

Dont have a garage to work on car and not many tools outside of basics and small air compressor

Assuming your engine's healthy and all maintenance has been done as you've stated, this is what I'd do(and plan on doing for a little gain for little $).

Go junkyard diving. Get your F23 manifold, and try to scrounge up an F22A6 cam. If you like shiny tubes, buy an aftermarket intake; if you want a perfectly capable intake, snag a Prelude intake tube and box, and ditch the factory in-bumper resonator. If you really like pissing money into the wind, go ahead and put a different filter in the box. It'll run off your stock ECU. Since you're an OBD1 car, try to see if you can find an ECU from a 92-93 EX 5-speed, as it will have the proper mapping for the F22A6 cam. You'll have to swap pins A6 and A11 on the harness. All that should cost about $100 at a pick-n-pull. Don't expect to make more than 10-15hp(crank) over what you have. Don't expect any results unless you can get a dyno of before and after for measurements.

Want to make a little more power? Pair it all with an ebay header(no use going anything fancier), exhaust if you want, get a P06 ECU from a Civic, and get it chipped and tuned. The ports of the F22B2 head are the worst of the F-series family and won't really make power past bolt ons and a small cam while staying naturally aspirated. You'll either have to go boost, or do a swap, neither of which it seems like you'd be inclined to do.
