Default AFAccord's Body Restoration Thread

As some of you know, I completed my boost build back and December, just days before I left the country. The body and paint on the car was in pretty bad shape, but I only had time to focus on one thing before I left.

My dad has been helping me out by hiring a friend to restore the body to new condition and getting the car ready to paint with the new bumpers and OEM lip kit.

December, when I left:

Again!?! Didn't you do all this once before? Damn, must be annoying/frustrating to have to do it all over again.

Can't wait to see results, though!

Yes, again, but professionally this time. The town I lived in was a real **** hole and the car got door dinged all the time, plus there were some spots with hail damage that I missed. This should be a nice refresh, plus I'm changing the color this time.

I'm home from being overseas for a year, and getting ready to go to Europe in a couple weeks. I spent a couple days tinkering with the car when I got home before taking it to the body shop.

They found a few areas that needed massaging to make the bumpers and fenders line up better, including a poor repair job on the rear quarter from years ago when I got side swiped. The body is almost perfectly straight at this point, at least as best as I can tell. The guys at the shop have been very meticulous and are fixing every little divot or misalignment they find.

The car should be painted by tonight, and will receive some new trim and a new windshield on Monday. REALLY looking forward to getting the car back for a few days before I have to take it to Charleston to ship!

Really like the colour... Have to try and stop to take a few going away photos. Might be hard to do, I know that I'd rather be driving it than admiring it.
