MATSUSHITA AC Compressor Alignment
Hello,
I've got a 1990 Civic Hatchback STD with air conditioning. I ordered a rebuilt MATSUSHITA compressor and took it to my Honda shop. They called and said that the compressor on my car is a MATSUSHITA NL 1300 AB4.
They said it would physically bolt to the block but the rebuilt unit I bought them has the lines mount on the top and the compressor in the car has lines that mount on the side.
I've looked all over trying to figure out the difference and I can't find any reference to this kind of discrepancy. I see that there is a Sanden version and a Matsushita version but not a variant on the Matsushita.
Any experiences with this from you all?

This is what the rebuilt unit looks like. My car is at the shop tonight so I cant post a picture of that one but they said the lines were on the side rather than the top like this photo.
