Default 98 Civic Dx (Vibration)

Hey guys, I just recently got the AC on my car fixed and I noticed that when I am at a stop light and have the AC on that the car vibrates. When I turn the AC off everything seems to be fine. My first thought was to look at my mounts they seem to be fine. I have hasport motor mounts. I wanted to see what ya'lls opinion was on my problem. Thanks.

stiff *** hasport mounts regardless of whether or not its the 62a's or 70 etc, whenever you turn the a/c on your idle drops just a tad which will make it vibrate, this is completely normal with hasport, innovative, drop, and avid mount kits..All in all what i am telling you is that what you are experiencing is completely normal and there is nothing to really worry about.

If your idle is below 700~ with the a/c on you CAN adjust your base idle just a wee little bit to help out. If your idle with a/c on is at or above 700rpms i would leave it be.

Also, now that you said something, I was gonna try to up the idle just a tad. I know how to do it from the manual but it seems like it is still not uping the idle anymore. Plus the idle screw seems to be pretty far out of the hole. What do you think I should do. The car was chipped by the previous owner but I have no knowledge on that end.

All I know is that its a p28 with a two step and that its tuned, according to him when I bought it. And of course he didn't give me any receipts or tuning information. But anyways I was wondering if maybe the chip needed to be re-tuned.

And this is installed for what? What mods are on the car that you are not telling us about?

Well it has a d16y8 head but a y7 bottom end, cold air intake, obx cat with 4-2-1 headers. My guess is that he tuned it for the different head but Im not totally sure. Still learning about things lol.

i stock p28 would run a y7 block with y8 head fine AFAIK

maybe a d series guru can answer that better than i can, i stick with h series myself so i unfortunately cannot give a straight answer.

Don't know what you would need a 2 step for on a pretty much stock D-series. Just run the P2E.

Yeah idk. That's just what he had done to it. I think I can deal with the way it is now. Just gonna focus on finishing the last few repairs.
