Default what brand of conversion harness do you use?

ok so I asked the question a lil differently in the hybrid section and unfortunately got only 2 replies...even if they are indeed useful answers, I'd like to get more opinions/experience sharing to review before comiting to buy a product or another and I know many people in this particular section do use them...

for original thread please see:https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...9#post48891219

in short: I need an obd2B to OBD2A conversion harness for my ITR and quality is what I'm after(I could care less about the price) and I want to be able to swap ecu's without having to worry about broken pins after 2-3 times.

Thanks

from what I remember I don't really think there is a high quality piece. I just went to my parts store and they hooked me up. I would just imagine not to buy one off like ebay or something.. I think my last one was made by boomslang or something like that and I took it out of the car every night for 2 years and never had a problem. why are you stepping down to 2a and not obd1?

I got myself a raywire obd2b to obd2a and hasn't given any problems at all, also a few buddies of mine got ebay ones for cheap and they've all been good just make sure to use die-electric grease on the pins to prevent from sticking

I was looking to get an OBD1 at first but I got a pretty good deal on an OBD2A that I couldn't pass on.

I had one where pics would break, one I found that works well is with the ECu side glued

OBD2B to OBD1 99 00 Civic Manual Transmission ECU Conversion Jumper Harness | eBay
only 27 bux! compared to 100+ $ for almost all others...either it is cheap quality(but then again it is backed up with lifetime warranty which is a usually good sign and it looks like a quality part from the looks of it) or the all of the others are not worth at all the price they sell for!!!hmmmm....interesting.

Thanks for the reply!

They all get really bent up when installing the ecu in the original location.

I went with Rywire after all and just got it last Friday.

I'll let you guys know how it goes after a few months of use.

Thanks to all for the feedback and great advice.

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but whats the purpose of going from obd2B to OBD2A?

Hi! good question...see my June 24th reply.

I do not wish to go into any further details at the time being since I already know it's gonna fuel another one of those H-T debate that has already been beaten to death, at least in written form, which I have absolutely no intention to get into...but you could probably guess it if you've been around H-T long enough...

Need to do some testing and confirm firsthand since I'm not entirely satisfied with what information's already out there...too much conflicting info.

I plan to do a write up/follow up in the next few weeks.

Update: after install I can now confirm that Rywire connectors and plugs are fitting as good or better than with the original harness.

The combo of original harness connectors and ECU plugs were a lil' hard to remove as they were very tight VS less trouble with Rywire conversion harness on both ends.

I'm a little bit late to this, but I always go with Boomslang harnesses. They have nice amounts of wire which allow room to tuck and move around.
