Default Intermittent Brake Lights

Last week I got stopped by a random old guy at a red light, who told my my brake lights were out. I went home, checked em, they seemed fine.. no big deal. So the next day my friend tells me me brake lights aren't coming on all the time. It turns out that if I apply the brake pedal slowly, the brake lights don't come on. Also, if I brake, let off the pedal, and apply it again before it has come back out all the way.. the lights don't come on. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone got any ideas as to what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem, where my driver side taillight would go out, I'd take the bulb out and clean off the contacts, it'd work for a few days, and it'd go out again, so I just replaced it and the problem stopped.

Check the brake pedal switch.. It's probably out of adjustment..
