Icon6 Front lip installation

I ordered a type r front lip (this is actually the second one I've had to order) and it came with screws and brackets. I know where the screws go, but does anyone know where the brackets are supposed to go? My first one didn't come with any so I put 3m tape on the front and screwed the sides on. Well, it ended up getting torn off because it wasn't attached well enough. I've tried to find a youtube video, but I didn't have any luck. If anyone has any idea on how to attach these brackets, please let me know thanks

My first question to the OP, is this an actual Type R lip? If not then what type of car are you putting this on?

It's a type r style lip, going on a 99 civic ex. I gave up with the brackets and just did 2 screws on each side and two underneath. It doesn't feel like it's gonna go anywhere, especially compared to how the first one felt. I tried moving the brackets around and turning them different directions, but every which way I tried they didn't fit right, so I figured I'd be better off with the screws.

I'm sorry, did you say the lip was taped? Lol shoulda used gorilla tape or at the very least duct tape if you were going to go all Red Green

The tape was on the inside and for things like this 3m tape works much better than gorilla tape, especially when you heat it up with a heat gun. The installation instructions for the first lip just said put two screws on each side and you were done, so I figured I would give it a bit of extra support. It stayed on for a really long time, honestly I think the only reason it came off was because I hit a puddle (which I did not realize was a bit deep) going a bit to fast and the force from the impact tore it off.

yah, I can see why, I've been lucky and have dogged all the ones I've came across so far. You might try the two screws through the bottom if the whole thing gets torn off every time; mine feels pretty sturdy.

I have the type r style lip on my 99 front end conversion and I used the 4 screws on the outside, but I got like 5 screws across the bottom. Haven't moved and I've hit speed bumps.

I'm gonna put two pieces of 3m tape on the inside just under my foglights. It's kinda sags in those spots
