So my semi built D16y8 runs hot. No air pockets. System was bled correctly. Temps average 205-215. 220 is as hot as it gets. I know I'd like to be around the 185 area but I think this has to do with my GE block guard, Fluidyne radiator and AC fan I run for my radiator.

Now I know it's hotter than it should be, but is it dangerous? What temps should be really be concerned about? I feel it's about time I upgrade my radiator too... Any suggestions for a nice half sized with a thicker core and fan? This is for a del Sol.

Do you have any water wetter in the system? That will typically drop a couple of degrees also.

Why not run the radiator fan with shroud instead of the smaller A/C fan? Clearance issues?

 

Yes, I needed a slim fan and had it laying around.

I think I may go the Mishimoto X Line route with Mishi thermostat, fan switch and thin fan.

 

Just keep in mind, the fan shroud is critical.
