Why would you want to run a 1.6 liter less aggressive map on a 1.8 liter more aggressive engine? Not safe to do. You need the p73 ecu or convert to obd1, socket and chip a obd1 vtec ecu (or one that can be converted) and get a p73 map burned to it. Easier and most cost effective way, is to just buy a p73 ecu on ebay. There are plenty on there.

Older engine in a newer car equals auto fail.

How would you set it up if you have both complete jdm itr and usdm si engine? I change my mind by going b16 bottom end with the jdm itr head

I don't understand this or the last few posts.

Rock the original head with whatever bottom end.
Make everything 100% legit under the hood.

No smog tech will even ID the engine block/cylinder head unless your $#!T looks rices out under the hood. Ex.
Ditch the red valve cover.
Have correct evap with correct routing.
Nothing aftermarket under hood.
Remember it is a factory twin cam car that can fool even a tech semi-savy with Hondas.

If you can't do this^ then no Honda in California for you.
Cause it's not that hard.

I wouldn't trade our Cali smog laws for these rusted out hunks of **** I see in these other states.

Like the tech looks for this lol,

I understand this is the rule but duplicate the evap routing etc. and everything will work,
I do agree its probably over OP's head but sheesh, Cali isn't that hard to manage

I don't see how you can speak for every tech in all of California. Glad you got yours to pass but you cannot guarantee that for everyone.
