Default My 90 civic hatch build!

hey guys, so this is my 90 civic dx. picked it up a few months ago and finally getting started on the build! gonna be a mild stance/track car one day.

I picked it up with a d16a6 swap and skunk2 coilovers. pretty stock other than that.

here it is the day I got it home

ran pretty well. but had a oil slight leak. and for whatever reason he had the front motor mount in the trunk. and there is practically no 2nd gear, if im not on the gas in 2nd it pops right out.

got the front mount on.

getting some gas

so after about 2 days of driving it, I ended up having a pretty big coolant leak. ended up being one of the bypass hoses. replaced that and than another coolant leak started after one drive..thermostat gasket was ripped, as well as the radiator was leaking at the radiator neck

replaced the thermostat and got a new radiator as well as battery because it died on me..this all within about a week of purchasing.

new radiator

new upper and lower radiator hoses, as well as battery

draining some coolant for the install

bad thermostat gasket, probably hard to see the tear.

after I finished all this car has been running pretty well since. it sat for a while until recently.

got some 15x7 0 offset diamond steelies for it. 185/55/15 hankook tires.

she now sits like this

front fenders are slightly pulled but do need some more, and I just today ordered camber kits to tuck those rear wheels in a little and probably lower the car a little more.

a few days ago I got some function 7 control arms in the mail and put those on

that's about all for now till my camber kit arrives.

than gonna start gathering swap parts pretty soon. ill keep ya guys updated and hope you can enjoy my build! I know I will. thanks for looking!

anoter update! I got the camber arms on tonight, adjust with the ride height just a little and worked on getting the camber as even as I could by eye, got it close enough to drive it down to the shop to get an alignment and they'll make it perfect! I will have pictures tomorrow of the process and before and afters!

I got a question for you guys though, are most shops okay to work on aftermarket camber arms and adjusting them? or do you guys know of some that are better than others? just curious, I don't wanna run into problems!

ill keep ya posted!

Looks pretty good for an old EF. I'd keep it looking as clean as possible. Don't change the paint color, it's a pain painting engine bays haha.

Good buy, I'll watch the thread.

thanks!

okay guys update! sorry it took so long, had some things come up with my daily and had to get that sorted out. however till I get it back, last couple days ive been taking the hatch to work, getting her out of the garage.

anyway here we go

so as I left off, I went ahead and got the camber arms on in the rear
old.

taken off.

old to new.

on the car.

these were all pictures from the left side, right side went a little smoother than the left actually. one of the bolts on the left that threads into the body of the car was a little stubborn and I had to put pressure on the wrench and slowly work him back in, but I managed to get it back in and torqued down

heres some before and after pictures of the car.
before

after

different angle before

after

from behind, in this picture I had only adjusted the camber so much, you can tell the right has more negative than the left.

just took care of it the next day at the alignment shop cause it was easier.
shes got something on her shoes in this one..what could it be..

soo the final camber was set at -3.2 up front and -4.3 in the rear..

since I had to been driving her to work here are some pictures

my friend did some editing

another, no editing

peak a boo at work, with some editing effects

and that's all for this update guys! might be on hold for a little due to the issues im having with my other car, gotta get it worked out first.
but parts will be coming in soon again shortly, as well as more pictures and fun!

thanks for looking!

Looks like a MK3 VW front lip for the front and 86-89 Integra front lip on the rear?

it's hard to tell what that front lip is from but I'm guessing it's not a mk3 vw lip since they are split in the middle

edit: it looks like an ebay lip such as this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-89-90-91-Honda-Civic-EF-5DR-5D-Wagon-CS-Front-Bumper-PU-Lip-URETHANE-Body-Kit-/261178097879?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1990%7CModel%3ACivic&hash=item3ccf6d80d7&vxp=mtr

Not sure what you are referencing, but my local alignment shop does it for $49.99. I replaced both outter control arms and the toe was way out. I also put on larger rims and tires. No problem, still 50 bucks.
