Default Question about hub centric rings

Hey guys. I need 5mm spacers for my rear wheels, they'd be a bit too close to the control arm. I also need hub centric rings. I was wondering if using just hub centric rings would space the wheels a bit. I really don't need much space.

Thanks

Why do you think you need hubcentric rings? Are the lug holes out of round? Because, the only reason they'd be necessary is if there's damage to the lug holes on the wheels. The lug nuts should locate the wheel properly.

As for spacing the wheels out with hubcentric rings alone. You'll need custom ordered hubcentric spacers to accomplish both goals.

It's always recommended to install wheels hubcentric instead of lugcentric to avoid extra stress to the lugs and to avoid any vibrations. This is the first time I've had replica wheels and never had to use any spacers or hub centric rings.

Actually, that's a misnomer. The only cause for purchasing hubcentric rings, is if there already is damage to the lug holes (on most aftermarket wheels, that is). They're already designed to be lugcentric from the manufacturer, and any stress fed into the lug holes will be directly carried into the studs themselves (as it should) so long as the wheels are bolted on properly to the correct torque specifications.

I see. I'd still feel a bit more comfortable having hub centric spacers just for my own peace of mind.

I found a place near me that makes custom spacers. I'm gonna call them up tomorrow and I'll post some pics of them when I get them installed.

Thanks for the info.
