Stock engine or not?????
I bought a 1997 Honda Accord with a V6 emblem on the trunk lid last year in TX. Under the hood is a 24-valve V6 engine. I moved back to CA so I could fix up my Accord and when I had the performance shop worked on my car, the tech told me that my engine was from a Legend. I asked the tech if they did a "swap-engine" on my car but the tech said that it's the stock engine. I went to a honda dealership to get a clarification on this and they ran my VIN# and the result came back as a 1997 Honda Accord LX I4. So now I'm a bit confused if exactly what kind of a car I have. I need some feedback from you guys and anything is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
That's a possibility. When the V6 Accord was first introduced, the V6 used was basically an old Legend V6. What the tech said at the performance shop seem to have a contradiction - If the V6 is standard, how could it be an engine from the Legend?
Maybe he was saying like how people said "The Camaro Z28 got a Corvette engine." Yes, it's the LS1, like the Corvette, but it's a "Camaro engine."
As for the vin#, could the dealer made a mistake? Some Honda service advisers can't tell a Civic from an Accord? I know cause I don't have any emblems on my Civic, and they have to ask me "hummm....Is this a........" And I say "CIVIC"!!!!!

There are guys on this board that have an account and can do it for free, if you ask nicely.
For now, let's start with a simple check on if it's V6 or I4. What size stock tires do you have?
At worst, you car could be a salvage title car, if everything turns out to be true.
