If I drive my CRX for a long time(about an hour or more at 60+ mph) the check engine light comes on. It oly happens then. Never when I'm just driving around town. It is all stock so no mods are causing it, are there any things to check that normally cause this?

 

Pull back the carpet by the passenger foot well, then bring a friend along next time you will be driving that long. Once the check engine light comes on, have your friend look at the ECU under the carpet there and count how many times he sees a red light blink... that is your engine code. Once you have the code we have something we can work with.

 

^Don't need to wait for another long drive, once the CEL comes on the ECU will store the code until it is reset.

 

How do you check the ECU to see what code it is?

Will it be flashing continuously or only when activated or what

 

Key on II and it should blink if there's codes stored.

 

Ok it blinks 12 times do you happen to know what that means?
