I was wondering if you guys could help out a little! I'm getting a 93 honda civic dx hatchback next week and was looking to modify it. I personally don't know a whole lot about performance. So I was wondering what exactly I should invest into it. As well I would like to swap the cloth seats to leather seats and add the power window and door harness to it. Any tips, advice or feedback is welcome! I can provide pictures later.

 

Motorswap....buy the biggest engine you can afford.

 

this is the current information I have on it. I really dont know a lot about it, but was planning on getting myself more familiar with it.


- Swapped in JDM D15B VTEC 1.5 (127HP) Japanese engine (lower KM, around 65,000KM when I swapped) along with new distributor, timing belt, water pump, radiator, synthetic motor oil ever since Amsoil + Amsoil filter
- Performance 4-2-1 Header Stainless Steel Ractive
- Mugen style Twin-loop catback muffler Ractive
- Performance Cold Air Intake Ractive
- New larger SI Master Brake Cylinder for better brake performance
- ECU chipped by 'makku' from D-Series.org with 5% more fuel map than stock, better performance, lower VTEC RPM engagement point
- Swapped in SI gauge cluster with RPM tachometer
- Full vehicle interior, door panels, roof, trunk, firewall, sound proofed and sound deadening completed with Dynamat-type Brown Bread solution for a very quiet car considering the year of the car
- Re-painted black exterior (did 7 coats)
- Autopage 2-way alarm with 2 remotes (1LCD, 1Basic) + Siren + Piezo Siren + Battery Backup + ENGINE REMOTE START!! Great for winter!!!
- Panasonic MP3 capable head unit (bought brand new)
- Lowered with Eibach Coil Overs
- Great fuel economy! 40+MPG highway easy!
- Has Air Conditioning A/C

 

if you want more power you can swap to a DOHC motor, or add a turbo.

 

alright, I don't exactly know where to look or how much that would cost. I'm still a rookie lol. from what is said above, what is your opinion of the car? as I said I just dont know much about it, yet.

Buy a h22a swap, the mount kit and axles and go have fun. Most people will recommend a b series but if i were to go b series it would have to be the legendary b16b

 

yeah my bad about that this is my second post besides the introduce yourself -_-. what would the difference with doing the h22a swap and going for a b series be?

 

i hate to recommend this but get on youtube and watch videos of a lets say a gsr swapped eg and then watch some videos of h22 swapped eg and you will see enough to make a decision on which you want...

h22a swap is about 1800+mounts at 3-500 and axles at 250
b swap cost about 27-3000 from hmotorsonline...

its your choice...
