overheated head
Hi guys i was wondering what kind of issues will a car have with an overheated head. I am having some trouble with my 96 honda accord and i took it to the a shop today and they told me that the spark plugs looked like they had some water on them. I look at the spark plugs and they did look kind of worn but not out of the ordinary. I was told that if the car keeps doing that then maybe the car was overheated. I've had the car for about a year now and I have never overheated problems. Can you please tell me what kind of issues will come up if the car does have an overheated head. Thanks
Do a compression test on it to find out if there really is any damage. Remember to remove the ecu fuse in the engine fuse box to disable spark and fuel when you do. You can get a $20 kit at most parts stores.
I checked the compression its fine. All of them read the same. i think 90 in all four cylinders was the last reading the shop took. No water on the oil. No water droplets on the oil cap. No overheating problems. Just a weird that got solved by changing spark plugs. But, the shop told me that one of the spark plugs looked like it had water in it but theres no white smoke coming out the tail pipe. The spark plug looks red or kind of corroded, but again no white smoke or no overheating problems. One guy said that it might of overheated the head just a bit but that it was fine for now. I will try to post a pic of the spark plug
