Default How to remove '1' cylinder Head bolt head by drilling?

Hi Guys-

So I am trying to do a Headgasket on my 1994 Accord EX F22B1 because of overheating issues.

Long story short, I am unable to pull the head and do Headgasket because of '1' Damn bolt

I am drilling on the bolt right now with a Milwaukee drill bit and used engine motor oil as a cutting oil.

I am kind stuck now, not sure how to completely remove the head of the bolt, so I can pull the head?

Please have a look on the pictures and advice, I am kinda stump now. Because if I try to drill by using 9/16', it's not removing anything and seem like bolt head is not budging

Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice.

You mean at this point or previously? Before I started drilling, I have tried various bolt extractors, but no luck

Since the space is too tight, I can't even use a cutter or grinder.

Any other suggestion for removing head of the bolt?

Go to sears and buy the reverse threaded bolt extractors and reverse drill bit extractors.

You don't need to cut the head off the bolt - just get a grip on it so you can remove it.

Please don't take me wrong but these BOLTS need a lot of torque to crack them open, I had to use a 4" long cheater pipe with 1/2" breaker bar to break loose 9/10.

Do you think those extractors or reverse drill bits can crack them?

Please advise and a picture would be great if you can possibly provide?

dont worry about an extractor at this point. drill out the bolt untill the head of the bolt pops off. removed the head, and try to unscrew it the rest of the way with a pair of vice grips. also, you may be able to use a step drill bit but be careful not to cut into the head.

Be sure to give it a thorough cleaning and remove all the metal shavings before reassembly.

Thanks brother, do you think removing just the remaining portion of the bolt from the head will not be a PITA?

Also, these metal shavings, I am picking them up with a small magnetic tool, anyway they can go into the block and cause any trouble?
