Anyone had any experience with cf roof ??
Well long story here is the previous owner of my r had the car reprinted oem color but 3-4 years later now the paint on the roof is super faded , I contacted him and he told me the paint shop he used and assured me it had a lifetime warranty on it , so I rolled down to the paint shop assuming I would just be setting up an appointment to have it fixed when he decided to tell me that the fading is caused by the paint that was left underneath because when the last owner had it painted he didn't pay extra to have the roof stripped

So I called the previous owner again who now lives on the other side of the country and he told me that was horse shyte, but since I'm literally in the middle of packing my house to move from Florida to California I don't have time for a huge dispute and try to take any kind of legal action if even possible.
Which leads me to my question
Has anyone had any experience with the cf roof over lay or even the vinyl ?
Will I be shot for even thinking about putting vinyl on my R lol,
I know the roof overlay for the real deal is around 500 bucks plus instal
About the same as paint I'm just wondering what anyone thinks, I don't want to leave the roof exposed too long so it's gonna have to be repaired soon, I hate seeing the car so sad

How would a faux carbon fiber vinyl wrap on the roof look any better than faded paint?
If you're going to keep the car, just wait until you can get it painted properly.
Your car though, but I'd do it right the first time.

you are going to pay more for the cf roof cap then it would cost to paint it, and the 3m dinoc faux cf vinyl will cost about the same as paint, so just have it painted
Just have it painted fairly cheap and easy and it shouldn't of faded from paint under it. That's a load of ****. It faded because they did a **** job and or used **** paint
What color itr?
I'd be inclined to strip the roof only and then do it in satin black rustoleum until you can afford a respray.
If you're talking about doing a real carbon roof, that's pretty sick if done right and not an overlay - dry carbon of course, done properly by replacing the oem sheet metal.

I'm not aware of any companies that make a dry roof cap. I haven't looked into the wet caps in years so not sure who, if anyone, is still offering them.
Just paint it.
Just paint it.
