b18b1 ef hatch converted to mpfi and running obd1

ok so if im mashing it and i full throttle the car will stop revving and slowly go down but if i let off even a half an inch it goes again its really weird and happens in all gears im thinking tps but im not completely sure any ideas?

 

could be tps

fuel filter clogged

bad o2

throttle cable not bolted down right

cat might be clogged.

just to name a few, and this is saying that the swap was done right.

 

well im getting codes 1 and 41 which sre both o2 heated oxygen sensor but all the wires are going to the right pins and ill change the fuel filter soon

 

edit: just saw you said you were obd1. sounds tps related, you can run with no o2 sensor and still hit redline

 

he wasn't talking about hitting redline. was wondering about the stumbling issue when going WOT.

which leads to the codes, you'll probably need a new o2, same for new air temp censor. wire's might be okay, but if the censor itself, is bad, you're gonna need to replace it.

 

Wouldn't that make him run extremely rich(especially if he has a chipped ECU) and not pass smog?

 

yeah the ecu would revert to the stored tables. would not run as well. I meant you should still be able to go WOT, friends eg had not o2 sensor and he smashed on it all day back in highschool.
