So I was just driving along when all of the sudden I felt a shudder, I turned down my music and heard a loud sound of metal grinding. The noise stopped after a minute. I was almost home so I kept driving. When I got home I noticed oil dripping out and going down the driveway. I jacked the car up and to my shock found a big *** hole in the bottom of my transmission where the differential is. What the heck could have caused this to happen?

 

Usually that happens when the differenrial goes but it looks intact. Have you bottemed
out lately, is the car super low because it looks like it got hit.

 

The car is stock height. I didnt hit anything as far as I know.

 

Take it apart and see what happened. Usually it'll speak for itself.

 

It looks like you hit something to me but like 94 said youll definitely know when it comes apart.
