so my brake pads are getting low, so naturally i go and order pads for an 89 crx si, i go home when its all said and done i find out the pads dont fit, so i go back to the store trying to find a match and they asked what car did the calipers come from, im just wondering if there is a way to find out what calipers are on my crx or all the possible calipers that could fit my crx

They could have put just about any calipers on the crx that they wanted with enough money/fabrication.

 

calipers are stamped with numbers on the outer edge (eg. 17CL15VN) that will help us identify which caliper it is.

 

Went to get pads for my 91 CRX Si, they gave me the one on the Left. Didn't fit, but they found the right one the one on the Right. The one on the Left actually came out of my 89 Si hatch.

 

I see the serial 16c13vn

 

The right pad looks correct I guess I need to ask for a 91

 

I asked for pads for a 91 and got the wrong ones.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter what you tell them, they'll probably give you the wrong one. Go to a real store where they don't rely on "what the computer says" at the very least you can bring your old one to matchup.

There is also the possibility that the calipers were changed before you got the car.

well when i ordered the part i asked for an 89 noit 91 it now fits
